Neko Health vs Bupa health assessments

Compare Neko Health and Bupa by price, appointment style, tests, clinical support and UK availability.

The short answer

Neko is the more technology-led, fixed-format experience. Bupa offers a wider ladder of traditional health assessments with health advisers, GPs and longer-term support.

Neko's published Health Scan is one hour and £299. Bupa currently lists remote assessments from £229 and in-centre assessments from £289, rising to £1,199 for its three-hour Be.Ahead option. The right comparison depends on whether you want one defined scan or a more conventional assessment with different clinical tiers.

Where the test lists differ

Neko's published measurements include ECG, arterial and blood-pressure measurements, skin imaging, body composition and blood biomarkers. Bupa's included tests depend heavily on the package. Its public comparison covers height, weight, waist, blood pressure, cholesterol, HbA1c and mental wellbeing, with broader blood panels, GP time, targeted cancer screening, ECG and fitness testing in selected higher tiers.

That package variation matters. Do not assume the cheapest Bupa assessment includes everything shown on its general tests page, and do not assume Neko is an MRI: Neko explicitly says its body-composition process does not require MRI or DEXA.

Who might prefer each option?

  • Neko may suit you if you value speed, visual technology, a consistent package and tracking the same measurements later.
  • Bupa may suit you if you want a conventional health adviser or GP-led assessment, at-home choice, or a package tailored by depth and budget.
  • Neither is an emergency service. New or worrying symptoms should be discussed with an appropriate clinician rather than waiting for a screening appointment.
