They are not the same scan
A Neko Health Scan is not a full-body MRI. Neko combines surface imaging, cardiovascular measurements, body composition, blood biomarkers and a clinician review. MRI uses magnetic fields to create detailed images of internal anatomy.
In simple terms: Neko takes a broad set of measurements around risk and current health; MRI looks inside selected parts of the body in much greater anatomical detail.

What each option can miss
Neither check proves that you are “all clear.” Neko does not provide the detailed internal imaging of MRI. A private MRI package does not literally scan every body part: Vista states that its standard packages cover specified regions, with other body parts available as add-ons.
MRI can also find incidental abnormalities that may be harmless but need further investigation. Before paying, ask who explains the report, how follow-up is arranged and whether the scan is suitable if you have implants, metal fragments, claustrophobia or other relevant conditions.
Which should you choose?
- Choose a Neko-style assessment if you want a broad baseline, cardiovascular measurements, skin imaging and blood data in one appointment.
- Consider MRI if internal anatomical imaging is the main reason for booking and you understand exactly which regions are included.
- If you have a symptom, ask a clinician which targeted test is appropriate. A targeted scan can be more useful than a broad self-referred package.
